ORGAN SYSTEMS OF THE HUMAN BODY
The exhibition explains in a simple and straightforward way how the different systems of our body work in sync to keep us healthy and fulfill our potential
NERVOUS SYSTEM
From head to toe, a vast network of fine nerves regulates all bodily functions. The nervous system simultaneously controls hundreds of activities. It is the source of our consciousness and allows us to communicate and perceive emotions. Some functions, such as breathing and digestion, belong to the autonomous nervous system and cannot be controlled voluntarily
CARDIOVASCULAR SYSTEM
The cardiovascular system distributes nutrients, oxygen and hormones to various parts of the body and at the same time collects metabolic waste products to remove them from the body. The heart is the engine of this system, and a dense network of blood vessels forms the transport routes
RESPIRATORY SYSTEM
Our lives require a constant supply of oxygen, which we get through breathing. Without oxygen, most body cells could only survive for a few minutes. The respiratory organs provide the gas exchange in the lungs, oxygen is inhaled and carbon dioxide is released
LOCOMOTOR SYSTEM
Running, cycling, swimming - all of these activities are possible because of the complex interaction of bones, muscles and joints that keep our body upright and make it flexible and agile
SPECIAL TOPICS THE CYCLE OF LIFE
